DESCRIPTION:In celebration of 51 years of service to the community\, the St. Martin Council on Aging\, Inc. will conduct its Annual Gala on Thursday\, September 19 at the Cade Community Center from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.  \nThis event is an opportunity for healthcare providers\, civic groups\, local businesses\, elected officials\, and the residents of St. Martin Parish to come together in an effort to celebrate and learn more about the accomplishments and achievements of the SMCOA over the last five decades and to raise community awareness of current services\, activities\, and events. The attire for the event is black & white. Ticket prices are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. In addition to the Gala\, a silent auction will be held. Dinner will be served\, and a cash bar made available. Musical entertainment will be provided by Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Krush.  KLFY TV-10’s Darla Montgomery will be the emcee for this event. \nWe are also seeking sponsors to assist with this event. Sponsorship levels are as follows: \n\nDiamond-$5\,000 Leading Sponsor (Full Page Ad)\nPlatinum-$2\,500 (Half Page Ad; Seating for 6)\nGold-$1\,000 (1/4 Page Ad; Seating for 4)\nSilver-$500 (Business Card; Seating for 2)\nSponsored Table-$250 (Seating for 8)\n\nIn addition to ads in the program booklet\, sponsors will receive formal recognition and appreciation in local news outlets as well as the agency’s website and social media pages. Sponsorship will also include seating for individuals of your choice for your company or organization (leading sponsorship of $5\,000 includes VIP seating for ten people of your choice and on-site recognition).  \nSponsorship forms can be picked up at the Sydnie Mae Durand Activity Center\, located at 391 Cannery Road\, Breaux Bridge\, or mailed\, emailed\, or faxed by request. SUMMARY:Farmer’s Market Benefit Cards
DESCRIPTION:The St. Martin Council on Aging currently has 74 slots available for seniors aged 60 and older who would like to receive a free supply of fruits and vegetables from a local fruit stand. Individuals must have forms completed by a case manager. Farmer’s Market benefit cards will then be mailed to their home address. Cards can be used to purchase fruits and vegetables at any fruit stand that accepts them. Individuals who have already received forms must meet with a COA case manager to have them signed and stamped before receiving benefit cards. The deadline to apply is September 20. Benefit cards are available only to seniors who reside in St. Martin Parish. \nFor more information\, or to schedule an appointment\, contact the Council on Aging at (337)332-3063.
